FAQs

Peterborough EICR questions

How much does an EICR cost in Peterborough?

Price is driven by the number of circuits and distribution boards, not the floor area. A typical two- or three-bedroom rental with one board sits at the lower end; a multi-board commercial unit is quoted after we confirm circuit numbers. We always give a fixed figure before we attend.

How often do I need an EICR?

Private rented homes must be inspected at least every five years. Most commercial premises follow a five-year cycle, industrial installations three years, and construction sites or swimming pools far more frequently. Your last report will state the recommended next inspection date.

What do C1, C2, C3 and FI mean?

C1 is danger present and made safe immediately; C2 is potentially dangerous and must be remedied for a satisfactory report; C3 is an improvement recommendation that does not fail the installation; FI means further investigation is required. Only C1, C2 and FI make a report unsatisfactory.

Can you carry out the remedial work?

Yes. Because we are an electrical contractor first and a testing company second, any C1 or C2 items can be priced and corrected by the same team, then the report reissued as satisfactory.

Which areas do you cover?

Peterborough and everywhere within 50 miles — Stamford, Oundle, Bourne, Spalding, March, Wisbech, Huntingdon, St Neots, Corby, Kettering, Grantham, Cambridge and King's Lynn.
